Railroad protective liability insurance is designed to meet a railroad’s demand for liability protection arising out of a contractor’s work (usually within 50 feet of the tracks). Coverage benefits the railroad only, and it is normally paid for by the contractor. The railroad company, as the named insured, is protected against bodily injury liability, property damage liability and physical damage to property. Protection provides both first party and third party liability coverage.
